One Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting In Weld County
A fatal shooting involving a member of the Weld County Sheriff's Office on Saturday near Fort Lupton is under investigation.
That's according to a post on the Weld County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. The post says the shooting is being investigated by the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team [CIRT].

The release reads as follows:
The 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred Saturday morning in a subdivision outside of Fort Lupton.
Multiple agencies, including the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, responded at 8:43 a.m. to a report of a disturbance with weapons at a home in the Aristocrat Ranchettes subdivision, which is in unincorporated Weld County just northeast of Fort Lupton city limits. A female caller reported to 911 there was a man armed with a gun who was preventing her from leaving the house and was threatening to kill her.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located the man outside of the house and ordered him to drop his weapon. After several minutes of interacting with the suspect, an officer-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect, a 60-year-old white man, was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no continuing threat to the community.
