A 76-year-old Colorado man drowned Tuesday after his kayak overturned on Dowdy Lake in Larimer County, Colo.

That's according to a release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. According to the release, the sheriff's office was called at 11:32 a.m. on a report of an overturned kayak and a man in the water.

Sheriff's deputies and other emergency responders rushed to the scene and pulled the man, who was not wearing a flotation device, from the water. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's name and an official cause of death had not been released at last report.
