Typically the national sale day known as Black Friday is reserved for the major retail chains, but some local Laramie businesses are joining the fray. Supporters say that many of the local businesses will not have the sales that mega-corporations like Walmart and Target advertise, but they will have sales that are commensurate with their relative size.

Jenny Originals will open its doors early from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Owner Jenny Stoesz will offer 150 on sale items ranging from $5 to $5,000. Stoesz will also offer hot cider for those early risers who make it to her store at 7 in the morning.

The Knothole will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m and offer 15 percent off of everything in the store including children's clothing, jewelry, hand-made items and University of Wyoming appearal. The Knothole will also stay open past the 5p.m. closing time, if there are enough people in the store.

Cross Country Connections will have their business hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The outdoor store will offer a package deal discount when customers buy a pair of skies, boots, bindings and poles; the store will discount at least 20 percent on the fisher products and 10 percent on other products.

Dodds Shoe Co. will have extended hours opening at 9 a.m. on Black Friday morning. The store will offer sales around the store for both women and men throughout the day.
