Local Credit Union Raises More Than $5,000 for Make-A-Wish

UniWyo Federal Credit Union partnered with The Charity Stripe during the 2017-2018 University of Wyoming Cowboy basketball season to donate $10 for every free throw made by the Cowboys during their regular season.

The Cowboys made a total of more than 500 free throws this season, which allowed UniWyo to make a donation of more than $5,400 to Make-A-Wish. Last season, the Cowboys made 538 free throws, and UniWyo's $5,380 donation went to the Plainsmen Pantry, and the 2016 donation of $4,810 went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wyoming.

"We wanted to help make a difference...and getting to partner with Make-A-Wish was truly one of those amazing opportunities that I'm so grateful for" said UniWyo's Marketing Vice President Mindy Uitterdik.

The donation was formally presented to Make-a-Wish representatives at the February 28 game against Air Force. The money will go towards granting wishes for children in Wyoming, with one wish currently in progress in the Laramie.
