Laramie Named #1 Safest City In Wyoming

Áccording to a report from LawnStarter, Laramie is the #1 Safest City in Wyoming.

LawnStarter determined this by analyzing the statistics from the FBI on all 50 states. The FBI collects data on 8 crimes, and this is what LawnStaterter used for its study of Wyoming. These 8 crimes are:

• Arson
• Aggravated assault
• Burglary
• Larceny
• Motor vehicle theft
• Murder
• Rape
• Robbery

Using these crimes, they weighted each crime against the amount of jail time per crime. They got this information from the U.S. Department of Justice's "Time Served in Prison" report. 

When ranked against the rest of the U.S., Wyoming ranks as the 11th safest state. Laramie ranks as the #1 safest city, followed closely by Rock Springs.
