Laramie Family Wins Cowboy Draw Jackpot
A Laramie family is the winner of the Wyolotto Cowboy Draw Jackpot.
Officials announced that Darlene Mayo is the winner of the $540, 509 jackpot. The winning ticket was purchased at Gateway Fuel and Liquors in Laramie, according to a WyoLotto news release.
Mayo’s partner James Harry purchased the ticket on a whim while out for a walk with his two children. After learning he held the winning ticket, he gifted it to Mayo, who is the money manager for the family.
Mayo said she and her family have already formulated a list of plans for their jackpot winnings. The family will use the winnings to move forward with their plans to relocate to a new home. Mayo will pay off her car while she continues to work as the manager of a retail store in Colorado.
Harry plans to use the winnings to turn his passion of restoring American muscle cars into a full-time business. The family said they will share some of their winnings with family members before putting the remainder into savings.
Wyolotto will be hosting a retailer party at Gateway Fuel and Liquors on Friday, June 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate the winning ticket.
The search is still on for another Cowboy Draw jackpot winner, who holds a ticket worth $611, 781. That ticket was purchased on April 26 at Kegger’s at 749 Overthrust Road in Evanston.
