Laramie Audubon Society Field Trip: Float the Platte

Saturday, Sept 10 & 11.

Canoe/Kayak/or Raft Trips. We will float the North Platte River above and below Saratoga, one trip on Saturday and one trip on Sunday morning. We will meet at 8am on Saturday at the Kmart parking lot in Laramie. We will caravan to Saratoga. Our first float trip on Saturday is from Treasure Island to Saratoga, approximately 4-5 hours. You have two options for Saturday night, if you choose to stay overnight. Option 1: camp at Treasure Island. Option 2: There are several motels in Saratoga.

Learn about Wyoming wildlife, eagles, great blue herons, water fowl and much more. See deer, beaver, elk and maybe moose along this 5 mile stretch of the Platte River.

On Sunday morning we will meet at Hugus Restaurant, 405 N. First St. (next to Hach’s) at 7am. At 9am we will float from Saratoga to Pick Bridge, approximately 5-6 hours.
