Lander Police Continue Investigation Into School Violence Threat
Lander police are continuing their investigation into a threat of violence a student Lander Middle School last week, but they have found no credible evidence to substantiate the threat.
The police department issued a statement on social media Monday and said there is no evidence the student was planning or researching any violent act at the middle school or any other Fremont County School District 1 school
"The Lander Police Department takes all statements of threats seriously (whether inconsequential or explicit) and we thoroughly investigate every statement made to ensure the safety of the students, the school staff or our community," the department said.
A 13-year-old student created the second incident by making a threat of violence towards the school. A teacher heard the remark and told police about it.
The student was removed from class.
