Kanye West hosted the first "Sunday Service" in his new adopted hometown of Cody, Wyo. yesterday. The free event at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West drew hundreds who witnessed the 80-person choir worship with a medley of hymns, including covers of the classic Nirvana songs "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are".

West and the choir reworked the grunge rock anthems, altering the lyrics and encouraging the crowd to "just confess, we'll do the rest, Christ is here, Hallelujah". The Nirvana mash-up was one of 14 songs the choir performed. West also joined the choir for a gospel-themed cover of his song "Ultralight Beam".

The event marked West's first Sunday Service in Wyoming since purchasing the Monster Lake Ranch outside of Cody earlier this month. The property has reportedly been renamed "West Ranch". The hip-hop mogul also unveiled a new line of Wyoming-inspired Sunday Service merchandise, which was for sale at the event. West has hosted similar Sunday Service events in Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
