Wyoming Highway Patrol Uses TVI Maneuver to End High-Speed Chase
The driver of a U-Haul pickup was arrested Saturday after reportedly leading Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase in Converse County.
According to an agency Facebook post, the pursuit took place in the area of mile marker 153 on southbound Interstate 25, between Glenrock and Douglas.
"A Wyoming State Trooper observed a vehicle pulled over and the driver slumped over the steering wheel," the post reads. "The Trooper stopped out to check on the welfare of the driver."
When the trooper approached the pickup, the driver took off at a high rate of speed and a chase ensued.
Troopers were able to perform a tactical vehicle intervention -- a maneuver in which a pursuing vehicle forces a fleeing vehicle to turn sideways abruptly, causing the driver to lose control and stop -- and take the driver into custody.
Fortunately, no one was harmed during the incident.
