Two Feet Of Snow Possible In SE Wyoming Mountains
According to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service, up to 24 inches of snow is possible at higher elevations in southeast Wyoming.
The agency posted the following on its website: Snow and blowing snow will return to the higher elevations of south central and southeast Wyoming from late this afternoon through mid-day Tuesday. Light snowfall accumulations, coupled with strong wind gusts could result in dangerous driving conditions over the I-80 Summit due to icy roads and very low visibilities in falling and blowing snow. Heavy mountain snow is expected in the high elevations of the Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges above 9000 feet elevation. Total accumulations may approach 2 feet in the Snowys, with up to 1 foot possible in the Sierra Madres. Mountain travel will be dangerous, and recreational activities may be life threatening to those caught unprepared for severe winter conditions.
