While southeast Wyoming has been enjoying a stretch of unusually balmy weather recently, a blast of winter weather is headed our way before the end of the week, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted the following on its website:

"These mild temperatures will continue through mid-week before a cold front pushes through, bringing winter back to southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. Snow chances start increasing west to east Wednesday afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front Wednesday night. Widespread snowfall chances (40-60%) are expected on Thursday. Snow accumulation looks low at this time, less than an inch in most areas. Breezy to windy conditions will continue"
