The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning southeast Wyoming residents to brace for accumulating snow and windchills that may fall as low as -20 in some areas.

2-5 inches of snow is expected in many areas,  but the higher elevations could get as much as two feet of snow.

Winter Weather Advisories remain in place across portions of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle. Most Winter Weather Advisories across southeast Wyoming are in effect until 11 PM tonight. Winter Weather Advisories for the Nebraska panhandle continue through tomorrow. An additional 2 to 5 inches of snow will be possible in all Advisory areas. Winter Storm Warnings continue for the Snowy and Sierra Madre Ranges until 11 PM tonight. An additional 1 to 2 feet of snow will be possible. Persistent light snow with periods of heavy snow are expected through at least Tuesday. There is the potential for banded heavy snowfall and/or snow squalls Monday and Tuesday.
Dangerously cold wind chills are also expected behind the arctic front that hangs across the area from roughly Pine Bluffs to Casper. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the Nebraska panhandle tonight through Thursday morning. Cold Weather Advisories are in place for a small portion of southeast Wyoming tonight through tomorrow morning. Wind chills will fall below -20F with the coldest wind chills expected in the Nebraska panhandle.
