
Rain, Up To 10 Inches Of Snow Expected In SE Wyoming
A cool, wet day is expected across southeast Wyoming today, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Snowy Range Mountains, with up to 10 inches of snow forecast for higher elevations. At lower elevations rain is expected through the day and night into Wednesday.
The agency posted the following on its website:
A strong storm system passing to our south will bring a late-season round of snow to high elevation east facing slopes today and tonight. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Snowy Range. Accumulating snow will mainly be confined to the eastern side of the range above 8500 feet in elevation. In addition, a few inches of slushy snow accumulation will be possible late this morning through the evening over the highest elevations of the I-80 summit. Use caution and allow for extra time if traveling in these areas today.
A storm system will organize well south of the region Tuesday with increasing coverage of showers and thunderstorms across much of southeast Wyoming and portions of western Nebraska. A few strong thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon, which may contain small hail and gusty winds.
