Poll: What Matters Most To You When Choosing A Local Candidate?

The Wyoming Primary Election is now less than three weeks away (Aug.20).

Early voting is already under in fact.

By now most voters are paying attention and thinking about who they will vote for if they haven't already decided.

So what matters most to you when choosing a candidate? For this poll, let's say for your local elections--city council, mayor, local legislative seats, and county commission. Those offices often have the biggest impact on our daily lives, and we certainly are more likely to know the candidates personally,

So what matters most to you?

Issues are important. Is it critical that they agree with you on all or almost all issues?

How about endorsements? Do they carry a lot of weight with you? If an organization or person you like endorses a candidate, do they get your vote?

Does character matter? Do you care if a candidate is ethical? Let's face it, we have all heard stories about politicians who seem ethically challenged. But maybe it doesn't matter as long as they get things done. Or does it?

Many local candidates tout having deep roots in the community, in some cases going back three or four generations. But is that important? Can someone do a good job without being a lifelong resident?

How about qualifications? Do you prefer candidates who have certain skills and experience?

It's no secret that Wyoming is a pretty conservative place. Maybe conservative values like low taxes are your top criteria.

Or how about listening to the public?

Or maybe your priority is something else entirely.
