Cheyenne police are asking for the public's help in identifying a person who may be connected to a recent rash of garage burglaries.

According to a department Facebook post, so far this month, officers have received more than 11 reports of valuable items being stolen out of open garages.

Public Information Officer Alex Farkas didn't have an exact dollar amount but says the combined value of the items lost exceeds $1,000.

"Proactive measures can go a long way in deterring crime - remember to close garage doors when you are not outside and avoid leaving valuable items (tools, bicycles, golf clubs, etc.) in plain view," the post reads.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the person in the video posted below or who has security camera footage of these burglaries to call Detective Hedum at 307-633-6643.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at 307-638-TIPS or silentwitnesslaramiecounty.com. Informants will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
