Natrona County Sheriff’s Office Conducts Sex Offender Check

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office recently joined with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in a sex offender compliance check known as "Operation Jessica.

That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.

Several Agencies Took Part In The Sweep

According to the post, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, United States Marshals Service, United States Probation, and Wyoming Probation and Parole all helped in the sweep, in which law enforcement personnel conducted 229 compliance checks throughout Natrona County. As a result of those checks, two individuals were arrested for non-compliance with sex offender registration requirements.

"Sex offender registration requirements are in place to protect our communities, and we take compliance with those requirements seriously,” said Sheriff John Harlin. “Our deputies work throughout the year to ensure registered offenders remain in compliance, and Operation Jessica strengthened those efforts through collaboration with our law enforcement partners. We appreciate the commitment of each agency that contributed to this operation and shares our commitment to the safety of Natrona County.”

The post says that, besides sweeps such as Operation Jessica, the Sheriff's Office has two deputies conducting compliance checks and monitoring registered sex offenders in Natrona County.
