UPDATE: Laramie County 911 Service Has Been Restored

UPDATE 5 p.m. 911 emergency service has been restored according to a post on the sheriff's office facebook page.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m:  Laramie County Commissioner Linda Heath gave Townsquare Media the following statement on the outage of the 911 emergency call system:

''The 911 issue is a Century Link routing issue. The system actually locked up this morning. It prevented the Communications Center from transferring calls to outside facilities which would be to usual practice. They are working on a solution and will also be testing the system this coming week to make sure they have the bugs worked out.''

Heath says officials are hoping to have the system up and running today (Nov. 11), adding that Century Link has sent technicians from Casper to work with the county  IT department to try to fix the issue.

Original article: The Cheyenne Police Department and Laramie County Sheriff's Office have posted notices on their respective Facebook pages saying the 911 call system is down as of the last report.

The CPD posted the following:

''Currently all 911 calls to the Laramie County Combined Communications (dispatch) are not working. If you have an emergency, please call 307-637-6525. We will update this post when the issue is resolved.''

The Sheriff's Office posted a similar statement:

Attention Laramie County residents: The 911 system is temporarily down, but our team is actively working to resolve the issue. For all calls and emergency service requests, please use the non-emergency number (307)637-6525. Your safety is our priority, and we appreciate your cooperation during this time. Stay tuned for updates, as we’ll promptly notify you when the 911 system is back up and running.
