According to a fatality crash summary, a semi was headed north when the driver lost traction on the icy, snow-covered road and jackknifed, blocking the southbound lane.

The driver of a southbound semi then crested the hill and struck the jackknifed semi's passenger side drive axles, causing the southbound semi's cargo tank to dislodge and impact the cab.

The summary says both semi's cabs were dislodged from their respective chassis and came to rest in the ditch.

Despite being buckled up, 39-year-old Wyoming driver Jason Tisdale didn't survive his injuries.

The other driver was also reportedly injured in the crash, but the summary did not say to what extent.
