One person was killed and two others injured in a head-on crash near Alpine Wednesday afternoon, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

The crash happened around 4:02 p.m. at milepost 121.8 on U.S. 26/U.S. 89, just east of town.

According to a fatality crash summary, 80-year-old Wyoming resident Ann Wright was behind the wheel of a southbound Honda CR-V when she drifted over the centerline and struck an oncoming Ford F-150 head-on.

Sadly, Wright, who was wearing her seat belt, didn't survive the crash.

The pickup driver and a passenger were also reportedly injured in the crash.

Driver Fatigue, Medical Condition Possibly to Blame

According to the summary, it was raining, and the highway was wet at the time of the crash.

Driver fatigue/asleep and a possible medical condition are listed as possible contributing factors.

Wright is the 34th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year.
