The Larimer County Sheriff's Office and two federal agencies are investigating the crash of a glider near Wellington on Wednesday that claimed the life of the aircraft's pilot.

That's according to a post on the Larimer County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page. According to the post, deputies were called to the Rawhide Flats area at 1:45 p.m. on August 31 an a report of a plane crash.

When they got there, they found a single-seat fixed-wing glider. The aircraft's only occupant, identified by the post only as being an adult, was dead. the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information on the crash to contact Investigator Pete Mesecher at 970-498-5144.
