  inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHEN...From 6 AM this morning to 6 AM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. Blowing snow could
  significantly reduce visibility. Snow mobilers and hikers may
  become disoriented due to low visibility and blowing snow.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is the first wave of a two part
  system. A bigger, likely more impactful, storm is expected
  this weekend into early next week.

Light to moderate snow is expected Thursday afternoon through Friday with 5 to 8 inches of snow possible. Winds will be gusting around 40 mph, leading to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
