Cracked Taillight Leads to Wanted Cheyenne Man’s Arrest
A wanted Cheyenne man is behind bars following a traffic stop near Frontier Park.
According to a booking sheet, 47-year-old James Michael Latham was pulled over in the area of Central Avenue and Kennedy Road shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, July 21, for having a cracked taillight and a non-functioning license plate light.
Police say when they ran Latham's name, they discovered he had an extraditable felony warrant out of Colorado for failure to appear for larceny.
After Latham was asked to step out of the car, he reportedly took off running, refusing commands to stop.
Latham was eventually arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on the warrant as well as misdemeanor charges of interference with a peace officer - no injury, taillights required, and no liability insurance.
On Tuesday, July 25, inmate Latham was served with a misdemeanor warrant charging him with one count of interference with a peace officer - no injury.
Latham made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court this afternoon, July 27.
His bond was set at $500 cash and his arraignment was scheduled for Aug. 23 at 9:30 a.m.
