Never let it be said that the Wyoming Highway Patrol lacks a sense of humor.

But giving troopers a good laugh still won't get you out of a ticket if you break the rules of the road.

Case in point? A trucker who recently displayed a "Blue The Scales'' statement on a semi. OK, that IS funny

But the driver still got a ticket for bypassing a weigh station near Cheyenne.

WHP: Semi Put It's Money Where It's Mouth Was

That's according to a post on the Wyoming Highway Patrol Facebook page.

"This semi with "Blue The Scales" put its money where its mouth was and blew by the scales in Cheyenne. He also blew by the watching troopers. While we appreciate the humor, you're still getting a ticket."

According to the patrol, there seems to be a false impression that truckers can bypass weigh stations and go on their way without being ticketed. In the words of the post According to the post:  "Not the case here in the Cowboy State!"

But the post says the driver was understanding and pleasant to work with. The post goes on to remind readers that the agency's goal is always to keep Wyoming roads safe for everyone. It also says  "we also love our truckers and appreciate all the long hours and hard work you put in to keep America running."
