Cheyenne Transient Accused of Threatening Man With Sword
A 33-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony charge after allegedly threatening a man with a sword.
According to a booking sheet, police were called to Adam Maxwell's home at 904 E. 21st Street at 9:15 a.m. yesterday, Sept. 18, for a suspicious circumstance.
Police say Cassandra Dee Herman, who had reportedly been staying with Maxwell for about two days, met them outside the home and stated she called and still had property inside the home.
Police say Herman was very flustered and aggravated and was walking around with a black cane in her hands, which Maxwell told them had a hidden blade inside it.
When police tried to talk to Herman about the situation in the home, she reportedly tried walking away multiple times and refused to drop the cane.
Herman was eventually tased and handcuffed after reportedly being warned multiple times to stop walking away and telling police she was not going to stop and talk.
Police say Maxwell told them that when he woke up, Herman was "freaking out" about people's guts on a fishing line at Holliday Park.
He said the two got into a verbal argument in the upstairs bedroom and Herman pulled out the sword, cornered him, and threatened him with it about a foot away.
Herman was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and interference with a peace officer.
Her bond was set at $3,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Monday, Sept. 25, at 9:30 a.m.
