Police say the reporting party told them that a male had broken into two vehicles and was behind the hotel discarding his gloves and hoodies.

Police went around to the back of the hotel and located the suspect, who identified himself as Payton Prado.

Prado reportedly told police that it was his children's birthday and that he had gone into two vehicles in the parking lot.

He also reportedly told police that he took a blanket and cell phone out of a vehicle in the parking lot, but returned it to the owner when the owner confronted him.

Prado was arrested and subsequently charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor theft.

He was also served at the jail that afternoon with a Laramie County Circuit Court warrant for felony theft and felony property destruction and made his initial court appearance on the four charges.

His bond was set at $7,500 cash and his preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 13 at 10:15 a.m.
