Strong winds and blowing snow are in the weather foerecast for southeast Wyoming.

Cheyenne and Laramie at last report were also under Winter Weather Advisories, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weater Service.

The agency posted the following on its website:

Today will be a fairly nasty day across the area. Strong NNW winds behind this morning’s cold front will produce widespread blowing and drifting snow in areas with existing snow cover. Travelers should be prepared for strong crosswinds, slick spots due to blowing/drifting snow, and sudden reductions in visibility through the day today. With highs stuck in the 20s today, wind chill values will struggle to get out of the single digits to teens!

 

The agency also posted the following:
The Winter Weather Advisory has been extended through 12PM today for falling and blowing snow in southeast Wyoming. Snow showers will continue through the morning, tapering off late this morning into the afternoon. Total accumuluations from midnight through the end of the event are shown at the right. In addition to the new falling snow, strong winds are producing fairly widespread blowing snow, which is expected to continue through the day today. Travelers across the area should be prepared for slick conditions, storng winds, and sudden visibility fluctuations.
