Cheyenne Frontier Days: Rodeo, Night Show Ticket Sales Up
Cheyenne Frontier Days officials say rodeo and night show attendance topped 250,000 people this year based on ticket sales.
Ticket sales for both events were up significantly compared to 2022.
That's according to a Sunday night news release from CFD.
According to the release, rodeo ticket sales in 2023 reached 116,960 , compared to 108,662 last year. Night show ticket sales were also up, with 134,134 compared to 103,798 in 2022.
That would put total rodeo and night show ticket sales for this year at 251,094.
In 2021 267,369 people tickets were sold for the night show and rodeo. 2021 followed the cancellation of Frontier Days in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Another 32,399 gate admission tickets were sold this year, bringing total ticket sales to 283,349 paid admissions.
CFD spokeswoman Nicole Gamst told Townsquare Media last year that "We were so busy in 2021 because of the anniversary year, we had to stop selling gate admission. So the 267,369 is only rodeo and concert sales."
Traditionally total CFD attendance has been calculated on the basis of rodeo, night show and gate sales. But because gate ticket sales were not available for 2021 it's impossible to calculate total ticket sales for 2021 on that basis.
Total ticket sales for all three categories last year totaled 264,869. Based on those numbers, total ticket sales this year were up by almost 20,000.
