60-70 MPH Winds, Snow Expected To Hit Cheyenne, Laramie
Southeast Wyoming residents can expect another blast of winter weather, with strong winds and snowfall into the weekend.
That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. The agency posted the following on its website:
- After a brief break, winds will be picking up once again today and tonight. Expect strong winds in the wind prone areas today, but wind speeds will increase and become more widespread after sunset. New High Wind Watches have been issued for the I-25 corridor and central/northern Carbon County for late this afternoon through early Saturday. Travelers should be prepared for strong winds and areas of blowing snow.
The next storm system will arrive tonight and bring multiple rounds of scattered snow showers tonight into the weekend. While most snowfall will be light outside of the mountains, a few locally instense snow squalls will be possible. Heavy snowfall is expected in the mountains, but accumulations will be more limited elsewhere. Be prepared for rapidly changing conditions if traveling this weekend!
