In what feels like a long time coming, the Children's Museum of Cheyenne broke ground yesterday at 1618 O'Neil Avenue in Cheyenne.

Check out the video of the groundbreaking ceremony here.

Their social media post had this to say about the groundbreaking and news of the museum.

Official Ground Breaking for the Children's Museum of Cheyenne. Thank you to the sea of people there to support our mission. You each hold a special and important place in this community effort. Thank you to our architects Will Wedeymeyer and Rachel Delventhal from Studio RED and our contractor Ray Fertig with 5R Construction all playing key roles in bringing the first phase of the museum to reality. Together we are creating a WOW experience and being a community catalyst.

According to their website, the non-profit was created in 2014, so this is really 8 years(and probably more) of work that people in our community have put in for the children of Cheyenne. That's pretty cool.

While there's no word on when the museum will be up and running, we at least know that it's coming and can probably guess that it will be one of Cheyenne's newest and greatest features when it's fully functioning in Cheyenne.

What do you think of the upcoming Children's Museum of Cheyenne? Are you excited to give local kids an opportunity to learn and experience new things? You can find out more information on the project and what it holds for generations of children to come in Cheyenne here.
