Wyoming Ranks 18th of Most Dangerous States For Christmas
Well, this is STUPID! Somebody did a "study" to rank the most and the least dangerous states for celebrating Christmas. To be fair, there are a few real dangers. But then again, there are real dangers even if you are sitting in your living room.
Vermont ranks #1 for Christmas risk due to snow, driving, and Christmas Day fire reports. Mississippi comes out safest for some strange reason. Folks tend to think of Vermont as more well-educated and of Mississippi to be a bunch of idiots. But Vermont can't survive Christmas, so....
The “danger score” blends a lot of holiday hazards, including crashes, alcohol, arrests, house fires, and even emergency-related Google searches. (Study Finds).
The biggest dangers are driving safely, cooking carefully, and drinking. Actually, let's not say drinking. Let's call it what it is. GETTING DRUNK!
It is more dangerous to celebrate Christmas in a Northern state than in a Southern one. That idea defies all logic, but there you have it.
Wisconsin ranks highest for food poisoning during Christmas, so do not have Christmas dinner in that state.
Colorado lands in fourth place for deaths on the highways during Christmas. North Dakota comes in right behind them.
For those with me here in Wyoming, the Cowboy State came in 18th in the UNSAFE ranking. Mississippi came in as the safest. DO NOT celebrate Christmas in Vermot. You'll DIE!
To do this study, Nursa analyzed data from multiple federal and state sources spanning Christmas celebrations across U.S. states. They looked at fatal injury rates per 100,000 people and the reasons they died.
