The 4A State Volleyball bracket was very competitive in 2023 with some epic matches in Casper over the weekend. The championship match featured Laramie taking on Thunder Basin with Laramie coming into the final with just one loss and that was to Thunder Basin in the 4A East Regional.

Laramie won the first 2 two sets 25-23 and 25-16 and it looked like they were going to make quick work of Thunder Basin. But the Bolts showed an incredible amount of fortitude to win the 3rd set 27-25 and the 4th set 25-21. So it came down to the 5th and deciding set and the Plainsmen showed some fortitude of their own as they prevailed 15-11.

Laramie finished the season 33-1 and were the 4A favorites from start to finish. They were challenged on the way to their 3rd state title in the last four years but this team has some top-of-the-line talent and top-of-the-line height. Thunder Basin was a resilient group this year and finished the season 33-5.
