Laramie Football Returns Home for Senior Night [VIDEO]
The second home game of the 2024 high school football season will be Senior Night for the Laramie Plainsmen. They host the No. 2 Campbell County Camels at Deti Stadium. The game starts at 6 p.m. The 13-member senior class will be recognized in ceremonies beginning at 5:20 p.m. in front of the home grandstand at Deti Stadium.
Laramie is 1-3 on the season. They are coming off a 38-16 loss at Rock Springs last Friday night. Their lone win came at home two weeks ago over Cheyenne Central.
Seniors Jeremiah Hutcheson, who plays on the offensive and defensive lines, and Fisher Frude, who is the quarterback and plays at safety, visited with KOWB’s David Settle about Senior Night, bouncing back after last week’s defeat, preparing for the Camels, and more.
The Plainsmen face a big challenge tonight against Campbell County. They are 4-0 on the season and enter off a 24-0 shutout of No. 4 Natrona County in Casper last week.
The game will feature two of the top three passing offenses in 4A football this year. The Camels are No. 1, and Laramie ranks third. Campbell County is led by quarterback Mason Drube, who is committed to the University of Wyoming, and receiver Adam Gibson. The Plainsmen have Frude and fellow senior Max Alexander at receiver. Those are the top two passers and receivers in 4A. Campbell County averages 335 yards and 28.5 points per game. They allow 213 yards and only 5.5 points per game. The Camels have the top pass defense in the state. Laramie is at 193 yards and 11.5 points per game. They give up 320 yards and 28 points per game.
This is the 47th meeting on the football field between the two schools. Campbell County leads the series 25-21. The Camels have won three in a row, which includes a 45-0 win last year in Gillette. The last LHS victory in the series was in 2020, 35-22 in Laramie.
The game starts at 6 p.m. KOWB Radio will broadcast the game live. David Settle and Aaron Lozano will call the game. The broadcast begins at 5 p.m. on KOWB Radio (AM 1290), on the KOWB app, online, and on smart speakers.
