If you've been keeping track at home, you've certainly heard that fishing at Glendo is tough this year. Ask the anglers who have fished in either of the first two Wyoming Walleye Stampede events, and they'll agree. Shoot, they may break into hives, start sweating, and maybe even shed a tear.

Yep, for most, it's been that tough. For others, it wasn't AS bad, but it was still a booger of a tough time.

This past weekend was the Stampede's Governor's Cup, the second tournament of the year, and the winning team had a two-day combined weight of 38 lbs. The second-place team, last year's Governor's Cup-winning team of Bryan Muncy and Marcus Griffith, weighed about 6 1/2 lbs less at 31.65 lbs.

The winning team of Ken & Ken Zuber was consistent both days, with 18.47 lbs on day one and 19.53 lbs on day two. The Zuber's improved on last tournament's 24th-place finish.

If you're going to choose one of the tournaments to win, the Governor's Cup would be the one you'd want to win. The prize purse is bigger, $15,000 to win, your team will go down in Stampede history when your name is engraved on the championship trophy, you get a large cup-style trophy, you get championship rings, and you get bragging rights for the next 12-months.

Not a bad deal for going out fishing for the weekend.

There is still one more Wyoming Walleye Stampede event this month at Boysen Reservoir, June 27 & 28, before the Championship in July. If you'd like to enter the Boysen tournament, there are still open slots available. To see about entering, you can check out the Wyoming Walleye Stampede Website or Facebook Page.
