Five Most Popular Mascots In Wyoming High School Football
At the end of August, there's an exciting feeling in the air every year.
No, it's not pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks.
It's HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL.
According to Wyoming-Football.com, 65 high schools participate in football.
Some play on Thursday, some on Friday, and some on Saturday, and depending on the school size, there are 11-man, 9-man, and 6-man teams.
Even though they may not all be in the same class or have the same number of fans, all teams have some similarities.
Every team wears school-colored uniforms (blue stands out as the most common dominant school color around the state, with 19 schools), is a member of the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA), and has a school mascot.
The school mascot is an interesting subject.
As I mentioned, 65 schools participate in football, so you'd think there would be 64 mascots. If that's what you think, you're wrong.
There are only 46 different mascots. Multiple schools have the same one.
Check out the list of schools and their mascots.
The list of mascots includes some good ones, and as I mentioned, some schools use the same mascot.
When I started thinking about the mascots, I thought there might be more schools that used a Wyoming-themed mascot, like a bear, elk, or cowboy, but only one school uses a grizzly, zero schools use an elk, and there are no cowboys.
