Queen Of The Tetons Being Honored By Wyoming Whiskey
Grizzly 399 has made headlines over the years as one of Wyoming's most famous grizzlies. She was nearly 30 years old, had at least 18 cubs, and has drawn attention (sometimes unwanted) from people worldwide.
The bear, known as the Queen of the Tetons, raised her babies close to the side of the road, sometimes causing traffic issues, and died after being struck by a car last month.
When the news of her passing broke, pictures, videos, personal stories, and tributes were shared on news sites, social media pages, and fan pages all over the internet. Grizzly 399 was undoubtedly a fan favorite and will be missed by many Grand Teton National Park visitors.
To honor 399, Wyoming Whiskey has introduced a new limited-edition bourbon dedicated to the memory of the famous bear.
Wyoming Whiskey’s Queen of the Tetons is a bourbon crafted as a tribute to her bold, unforgettable and untamed spirit. In conjunction with the launch, the brand will be donating $20,000 to the Grand Teton National Park Foundation to protect and preserve the wild habitats that bears like Grizzly 399 call home. The funds will support grizzly bear education, conservation and research programs in Grand Teton National Park.
Fewer than 720 bottles were produced, making it extremely limited. To get a bottle, you can go to the Wyoming Whiskey Jackson Barrel House on Broadway in Jackson, WY, The Wyoming Whiskey Shop in Kirby, WY, or check for the special bottles at select retailers across the state.
