Making friends is tough for some kids. They may be shy or overly nervous when meeting new people. Organizations like the Girl Scouts are a perfect ice breaker needed to help them along.

The Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming have been helping young girls make friends, have fun, find adventure, give back to their community, build leadership skills, and earn life skills along the way.

The Girl Scouts provide girls with opportunities to do things they may not have had the chance to do before, and will help build them for the future. For instance, going on camping trips or rock climbing, learning about business by selling the world-famous Girl Scout Cookies, or volunteering one's time to help at an animal shelter or food pantry.

September is an ideal month to get your daughter signed up as a Girl Scout. The annual membership fee is $45 for girls and $30 for adults.

For this to continue, fundraising is necessary—what better way to raise funds than by hosting a weekend getaway?

That's what the Girl Scouts are doing September 20-21.

Peaks and Pines, a women's weekend for a cause, will be held at Timbercrest Camp in Red Lodge, MT. The weekend will not only raise funds to support Girl Scout programs but will also be full of fun, laughter, and inspiration.

The event is open to women of all backgrounds who are 21 years of age or older.

The camp offers the perfect retreat, situated in the Custer National Forest, featuring cabins and lodge accommodations, as well as an excellent opportunity to spend time outdoors.

The cost for the weekend starts at $75 if you're only going to hang out for the day and increases depending on the type and size of cabin you'd like to rent. All meals, snacks, beverages (adult and non-adult), and activities are included in the price.

Here are some of the activities you'll be able to participate in:

  • Hiking
  • Learning about leadership.
  • Massages.
  • Summer camp activities.
  • Mixology classes inspired by Girl Scout Cookies
  • Archery
  • Bingo
  • Scavenger hunt.
  • Relaxing.

If you and your friends are interested in attending the getaway, hurry and get signed up. HERE!
