Curt Gowdy State Park Prepares For A Bustling Summer Season

With summer coming, all the state parks are getting ready for camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and other outdoor activities to enjoy the season. That includes Curt Gowdy State Park in the Cheyenne area, and there is a unique opportunity to be a first-hand asset in improving the park-goers' experience.

Wyoming State Parks is currently accepting sealed bids to operate the camp stores and all food-service concessions in the park for the foreseeable future. Bids are welcome from individuals, businesses, or partnerships that'd like to be in charge through the 2028 season.

• Fishing supplies
• Necessary supplies for those spending time in the park

There are over 150 campsites across 12 camping areas, so many campers will spend part of their summer in the park. That means, with great power comes great responsibility, and to run the camp stores will take a very dedicated person, or persons. Customer service will be a must, as you'll have the opportunity to engage with visitors and serve as their lifeline for supplies while they're in the park.

If you're interested, the sealed bids will be accepted until April 22, 2026, at 5 pm. Bid packets are available upon request. Interested parties can obtain bid packets by calling (307) 777-3680 or emailing Dalena.Phipps2@wyo.gov.

If you're planning to camp at Curt Gowdy this summer, please make reservations at https://reserve.wyoming.gov/web/. If you would prefer to call to make a reservation, you can call the call center at 877-996-7275. Wyoming residents can reserve a campsite 120 days in advance. All non-residents need to wait 113 days in advance to reserve. Remember, your reservation pays for ONE vehicle. Any additional vehicles are responsible for the camping and day-use fees upon arrival.
