Each fall, the Ford Wyoming Center fills early on a September morning to honor an inspiring Casper resident and welcome a motivational keynote speaker who will encourage all who attend.

This year, the date is set for the 27th Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming awards and recognition breakfast.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 17th. Doors will open at 5:45 a.m.,  breakfast at 6:45, and the program will begin at 7.

This year's honoree was the first woman to represent Wyoming in Congress, Barbara Cubin.

Throughout her career, Barbara championed important causes, including the creation of the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper, preserving Wyoming’s rich history for future generations. A proud fifth-generation Wyomingite, her deep-rooted connection to the state is reflected in her family’s long history of community involvement. Beyond her political achievements, Barbara is an inspiring voice for perseverance and self-confidence, encouraging others to follow their passions and pursue their goals.

The keynote speaker will be Will Reeve, a TV personality, journalist, and son of the legendary actor (and Superman) the late Christopher Reeve. Will is a member of the Boys and Girls Club of America Alumni Hall of Fame

He sits on the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation board to continue advocating for individuals living with paralysis. He also shares his own story, which involves losing both parents as a young teenager, encouraging others with his story of strength and perseverance.

Will speak highly of Boys and Girls Clubs of America:

My parents thought the Boys & Girls Club represented the best of humanity. I had peers and mentors who encouraged me to become the best version of myself. That’s what any kid deserves, and that’s what every kid gets at the Club.

As always, the BGCCW annual breakfast is complimentary, but guests are offered the chance to contribute to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming. The money raised will go to the $5.6 million annual operating budget to help boys and girls in Central Wyoming.
