LARAMIE -- Gatorade announced its 2022-23 Girls Soccer Players of the Year on Friday. Ally Boysen – an incoming freshman for the University of Wyoming soccer team – was honored as Wyoming’s Gatorade Player of the Year.

Boysen competed for Cody High School. She helped lead the Fillies to an undefeated 17-0 record and a 3A state title this past season.

Boysen tallied 48 goals and 12 assists from her forward position. She was named First-Team All-State for the third time in her career, earning the first two such honors as a defender for Cody.

The Gatorade Player of the Year honor is not only for on-the-field production. Individuals must also be strong in the classroom and exemplify high character on and away from the pitch.

Boysen got it done in the classroom, holding a 3.9 GPA, and was a member of National Honor Society. She was also an active member of the community.

Boysen volunteers as the Vice President of Cody CAN (Changing Attitudes Now), which is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping kids away from drugs and alcohol. She was also a youth basketball coach each of the past four years.

The Gatorade Player of the Year awards an athlete from each state. All the winners qualify for the Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year award, which will be announced later this month.
