UPDATE 10:30 a.m. Interstate 80 remains closed between Cheyenne and Laramie, but the westbound lane of I-80 is now open from Laramie to Rawlins. However, the eastbound lane of I-80 remained closed all of the ways from Rock Springs to Cheyenne at last report.

UPDATE 5:30 a.m. The eastbound lane of Interstate 80 has now been closed between Point of Rocks (near Rock Springs) to Rawlins. The westbound stretch of I-80 between Rawlins and Point of Rocks remains open, however. Both lanes of I-80 remain closed between Rawlins and Cheyenne.

As of 4 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, Interstate 80 in Wyoming remained closed in both directions between Rawlins and Cheyenne due to a spring snowstorm.

At last report, WYDOT was offering no estimate of when that stretch of highway might re-open. Most of southeast Wyoming remained under a winter storm warning that was projected to remain in effect through noon on Wednesday.

Even on roads and highways in the region that remained open, travel conditions were less than ideal, with slick roads and a combination of ice and water being reported throughout the region.
