High winds gusting as high as 74 miles per hour are wreaking havoc on southeast Wyoming as of Wednesday morning.

According to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service, a wind gust of 74 mph has been recorded near Douglas this morning, and wind speeds ranging into the mid to upper 60 mph range have been recorded at several locations around the region.

While Interstates 25 and 80 remained open at last report, both were closed to light, high profile vehicles.

That restriction was in place on I-80 all of the way from Cheyenne to Walcott Junction. The same restriction was in place on I-25 from the Colorado state line to Casper. WYDOT had issued an "extreme blow over risk" warning for those same sections of both interstates.

The National Weather Service Office in Cheyenne has posted warnings for much fo southeast Wyoming, with the portion in yellow under a high wind warning:
