A 66-year-old Laramie man accused of killing a man in his home has been acquitted of second-degree murder.

Late Wednesday afternoon, a jury returned a not-guilty verdict against Tim Harnden. Prosecutors have said Harnden fatally stabbed 44-year-old Paul Hamilton in Harnden’s home on May 19th.

Before the jury went into deliberations, Harnden took the stand and claimed he “didn’t want to hurt anybody.”

Hamilton was stabbed following an altercation in Harden’s home, which prosecutors claimed was sparked by Harnden’s interest in Hamilton’s wife.
