Thrillist agrees with me that Kansas is the ugliest state in America. As far as the Cowboy State, where did it rank? The most beautiful state is California with its long coastal shoreline, it has just about everything including too many people.

Hawaii was the next most beautiful state, and does anyone have anything bad to say about Hawaii? Aloha. Alaska, Utah, and Colorado wrap up the top five. Wyoming? Well, the Equality State was ranked by Thrillist as the 8th most beautiful state in the nation.

They also noticed that Wyoming is more than just Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park.

But if all you've ever seen of Wyoming is Jackson Hole and I-80, you're missing out on the other-worldly high plains outside of Laramie and Cheyenne, the ghostly rocks of Vedauwoo ... the Bighorns, and some of the darkest night skies with the brightest Milky Way in the lower 48.- Thrillist Travel wrote.

Maybe that we are not the top rated state is a good thing. It is a Goldilocks level of beauty. Our rating is high enough that we get people's attention, but not good enough so people want to move here.
