CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Fremont County residents are keeping a wary eye on rivers rising from snow melting in the mountains.

A small stream flood advisory was extended into Thursday for central Fremont County where high water is flowing in the North Fork and Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River as well as parts of the Little Wind River.

Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Kathy Metzler says some nuisance flooding is occurring near the riverbanks.

Metzler says river levels will remain high Wednesday and Thursday but are expected to start slowly receding by the weekend.

The National Weather Service says there's a chance of isolated thunderstorms that can worsen the flooding.

In southeast Wyoming, minor flooding continues along the Laramie River at Laramie and the North Platte in the Saratoga area.
