Former Casper College Basketball Player Shot and Killed
Deante Strickland, a former Casper College basketball was fatally shot on Friday afternoon in Portland, Oregon, and his sister was charged with his murder. Strickland played for the T-Birds for two seasons between 2015-17 and averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds a game. He was named an honorable mention All-American his sophomore season. Strickland then transferred to Portland State and averaged 7 points a contest in 65 games. He was a prep star at Portland's Central Catholic High School where he was all-state in basketball and football. Strickland was planning to play football for Portland State in the fall, using his last year of eligibility and was 22 years old
