The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says severe storms are possible in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle on Thursday.

While heavy rain and large hail are the main threats an isolated tornado is also possible. The agency posted this statement on its website:

''Morning showers will increase from the southwest and morph into widely scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. A few storms along and east of the Laramie Range and east into the western Nebraska Panhandle will be on the strong to severe side. Strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain are the main threats though an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Frequent lightning is also expected.''
