Firefighters Battling Blaze in Bighorns; Additional Help Ordered
Roughly 15 firefighters are battling a blaze in the Bighorn National Forest.
The Lick Creek fire is burning in the northern portion of the Bighorn Mountains. Currently, it is at four acres in size and burning in heavy timber.
Firefighters are using all-terrain vehicles and one helicopter from Wyoming State Forestry to begin suppressing the fire. An additional 10 firefighters have been ordered to fight the fire, the forest service said in a statement.
The fire is located approximately one mile down Forest Trail 76 which is accessed by Forest Road 147 off of the Dayton Gulch Road.
Forest Road 147 and Trail 76 are temporarily closed with an exception of the public being allowed to remove any trailers.
