A fire destroyed a barn at the Wyoming Territorial Prison in Laramie Sunday morning. According to the Laramie Fire Department’s Russ Matheson, the blaze was located within a barn at the Prison Park on Snowy Range Road.

The fire was noticed shortly after 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Crews arrived to the site within minutes. The barn was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene. Matheson has more on how the blaze was contained.

There were no reported injuries or loss of life to livestock. The barn was destroyed, and there was some damage to the historic schoolhouse and the out buildings. An investigation regarding the cause of the fire is underway.
