Father And Son Escape Wyoming Car Fire
A father and son traveling to Washington state were able to escape a burning vehicle in Rock Springs on Thursday afternoon, although the vehicle itself was totally destroyed, according to a post on the Rock Springs Police Department Facebook page.
The car owner later told investigators that he had a bad oil pan gasket and was taking the car to a repair shop when he smelled something burning and noticed fluid leaking from the dash.
Police say he stopped the vehicle and fled from the burning car with his son before running for help. Rock Springs firefighters found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames when they got there.
The pair escape without serious injury and the Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church has stepped in to help the pair. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon on the service road between the Rock Springs Walmart and the Sonic Drive- In.
